CEDAR CITY – The city’s first Mormon temple was dedicated Sunday, December 10, 2017 in a sealing ceremony in that took place on the temple grounds.  President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the governing First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, conducted the symbolic cornerstone ceremony. “This is a ceremonial moment when we mark this great occasion by sealing the cornerstone which represents, really, the Savior. The Lord is the cornerstone of the work,” explained President Eyring. Now that the temple has been dedicated, it can be used for official scared use.

Prior to its dedication, the temple was open to the public for tours.  The three-week long event drew in an impressive 187,000 people.
