CEDAR CITY — Dozens of people have already started to converge on Cedar City’s Main Street Park, where inflatable bounce houses and other structures have been set up for the kids. But Monday’s event isn’t just about having fun; it’s about helping out.

The 15th annual “Colleen and Kay Scott Memorial Day Foundation Fundraiser,” hosted by Funtime Inflatables, lasts until 3 p.m. Monday. The annual fundraiser aims to help a local resident with medical expenses each year. This year’s beneficiary is teenager Kimberly Simpson, who recently underwent surgery to correct a Chiari malformation in her brain stem and is currently in recovery.

In addition to activities, various festive food options are also available, including cotton candy, snow cones, hamburgers and hot dogs.

The activities and food are free, but donations are encouraged, as the money will go toward helping Simpson and her family with medical expenses.
