Zion National Park’s Hidden Canyon Trail closed again due to rockfall

ST. GEORGE — Due to another rockfall, Zion National Park officials have closed the Hidden Canyon Trail for the third time in less than two months.

Park officials tweeted news of the closure Tuesday, but the announcement did not say when the trail might be reopened.

“The East Rim trail remains open from Weeping Rock to Observation Point,” the tweet read.

Last month, Hidden Canyon Trail was closed twice due to rockfalls – on July 2 and July 21 – but the popular trail was reopened a few days later in both instances.

Several other trails in Zion remain closed due to flooding damage following a July 11 storm. The lower West Rim Trail, including Angels Landing, Kayenta Trail and Upper Emerald Pools Trail, are still closed.
