Southern Utah weekend weather forecast: A great weekend for hiking, boating or just hanging out

ST. GEORGE — According to the National Weather Service, this weekend’s weather for the majority of southwestern Utah will again include sunny skies, but as opposed to last weekend, winds will be mild. However, they are expected to pick up as the weekend comes to a close, prompting officials to issue a hazardous weather outlook for the next seven days for critical fire weather conditions.

Below are your St. George, Cedar City, Zion National Park and Lake Powell area weekend weather forecasts, including current warnings and advisories.

St. George

Friday 

Sunny with a high of 92 and low of 61, with winds of 5-7 mph.

Saturday 

Sunny with a high of 94 and low of 65, with winds of 6 mph.

Sunday

Sunny with a high of 93 and low of 64 with winds of 6-10 mph.

Cedar City

Friday

Sunny with a high of 80 and low of 55, with winds of 5-10 mph.

Saturday 

Sunny with a high of 81 and low of 60, with winds of 10-15 mph.

Sunday

Sunny with a high of 80 and low of 55, with winds of 8-13 mph increasing to 15-20 mph in the afternoon.

Zion National Park/Springdale

Lake Powell/Bullfrog Basin/Halls Crossing

Weather warnings and advisories

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the western two thirds of Utah for critical fire weather conditions due to strong winds picking up Saturday and Sunday ahead of a dry cold front. Conditions are expected to continue into late next week.

Areas affected in or near Southern Utah include Dixie and Zion National Park, Glen Canyon Recreation Area and Lake Powell.
